Happy Spring to All Prospective Accent Coaching People!

This is always a very positive time of the year, full of colour and feasts for the eye with the stunning magnolia trees and blossom in abundance — all showing off their wares!

When we feel positive we often look at areas we can expand and build on, which will enable us to move forward in our workplace and in our social interactions.

Many accent coaching enquiries I receive are from professionals who have English as a second language and have been struggling with their vocal delivery in the workplace. They are often being asked to repeat themselves, with comments that they are not clear and can’t be understood. This can be such a barrier to moving forward in their careers!

Accent coaching enquiries also come from professionals who feel their own particular British regional sounds don’t always get a very fair or positive reaction.

I work often with actors who have English as a second language and wish to study a neutral RP accent to further their careers and opportunities.

Extremely competent professionals, with high ranking careers, can feel their accent is the one thing that is stopping them from feeling in control and confident in their communication with clients and colleagues in the workplace.

A lack of clarity and enjoyment in communication is a great shame! Accent Coaching can clarify your particular sensitivities and confusion!

The work I do is completely bespoke to the client:

  • It is particular to each person’s needs and understanding

  • It is lighthearted and yet very focussed

  • I use IPA pronunciation charts to clarify significant vowels and consonants

  • I offer my own practise text on which to work

I look forward to you joining me in finding a way to feel the confidence and enjoyment we all should have in speaking and telling our stories.

Enjoy the Spring!
