Dialect Coaching

For Actors

Learning a new accent can be a challenge.

The public are astute and highly critical; everyone has an opinion! Actors need to be precise and consistent with their dialect in order to convince.

Through regular practise, using muscle memory and a creative vocal and physical approach, these new sounds and placements become natural; an unconscious part of yourself and true to the character you inhabit; helping you find ownership and ease in the language so the accent doesn’t get in the way of the story you are telling.

Accent coaching and dialect coaching sessions are aimed at actors and performers of all ages. I have coached actors for film, television, theatre, commercials, and for personal study to widen knowledge and range.

And, of course, for those last minute auditions!

Here’s what some of my dialect coaching clients say…

I have always felt confident after being coached by Ros. She is an excellent teacher who I have enjoyed working with on numerous movies and television productions.
— Kelly Brook, Actress
The filming was amazing and everyone thought I was actually Geordie…thank you so much…I couldn’t have done it without you.
— Ebony Buckle, Actress & Singer, 'George Gently'
…both of us felt very confident with our accents. Many, many thanks for helping us out and giving us the skills to deliver a realistic slice of Scottish life.
— John Deverell, Actor, Train4Change
Ros has worked with me on two separate audition pieces and in each case I was offered the job with compliments on my accents. That’s how effective Ros is and I recommend her wholeheartedly.
— Deirdra Morris, Actress
The regional tour went well, especially praised was Carleen’s accent, so thanks for your work.
— Dead Earnest Theatre Company, 'The Puzzle Women'
B is really enjoying the sessions and used all the skills you’ve taught her so far for the recent auditions. The feedback she got was fantastic…they specifically mentioned how good her accent was, so the work you’re doing with B is really helping her.
— AF, Mother of young actress
